With much confusion this year on with kind an dhow many Doves can
a hunter have, here it is in a nutshell. This pertains to California only, http://www.fgc.ca.gov California regulations state that only Mourning Doves, White Winged Dove, Spotted Dove and Ringed Turtles Doves make be taken as combined bag limit. The take and possession limits is: Bag Limit: Spotted doves and ringed turtle doves shall be included in the bag and possession limit set for the morning dove and white-winged doves. 10 Doves per day in aggregate of the above listed dove. Possession Limit: double the daily bag limit in aggregate of the above listed dove. EXCEPTION for this year: "EURASIAN COLLARD DOVES", In California, the birds are unregulated and hunters can shoot
as many as they want. That is likely to change in the future, but for this season the Eurasian collared doves are unregulated. Do, however, make sure you can tell the difference between the bird Eurasian birds, barnyard pigeons (rock doves), and the white-wing and mourning doves that do have 10 bird limits. If you have any doubts, just don't shoot more than 10 and you won't risk getting a ticket. Special Note: There is no open hunting season on common ground-doves, ruddy ground-doves and Inca. White-winged doves may be taken only in Imperial, Riverside and San Bernardino counties and Statewide for mourning dove.
If you are hunting Arizona their regulations are different.
